THE THREE KINGS DAY IN SPAIN.

The most beloved tradition among children during Christmas in Spain are the Three Kings Day. Santa Claus is well known for giving gifts, but the stars in Spain are the three Kings Day. Those who followed a star to meet the King of Kings (Baby Jesus) and offer three gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the newborn in Bethlehem.

When December arrives, all children in Spain and Latin America begin to write their letters to the Three Kings or your favorite King Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar. They ask things they would like the morning of January 6, the day that gifts are distributed, and also have their behavior during the year. If children have been good, they receive gifts, but if they have been naughty receive a lump of coal.
Their Majesties travel by camels and because of this when they come of this, slow to reach Spain. Once here, they visit all the cities and towns, and hear the petitions of the children after the parade. On the night of the 5th, children put their shoes at the door before going to sleep, so the Kings know how many children live there. Also they get something to eat and drink Kings and water and grass for the camels.
On the morning of January 6, the Three Kings Day, children find their gifts in and out of her shoes. On January 6, the children play forward with their gifts of Kings again before starting school. If any member of the family used to give to another, it is typical to visit the homes of relatives and collect presents day. And this is the last day of the Christmas holidays in Spain.
