The Light Between Oceans

The Light Between Oceans is a film based on the novel of the same name by M.L. Stedman.

Tom, came back from a war and he wants to starts a new part in his life. The man, is hired as a lightkeeper in a small desert island. The time, which he spends alone in Janus Rock is very important for him, because he can regain a will to live. Some time after, he falls in love with Isabel. After a short time, they marry and together they move to Janus Rocky.

The newlywed couple are very happy and they want to have a baby. Unfortunately, Isabel loses two pregnancies and fears that never become a mother.  Shortly after, to the island where live Isabel and Tom arrive a small rowboat with a dead men and newborn baby girl. A woman is happy during looking after a girl and she doesn’t want to sent her to orphanage. She beg a Tom into isn’t reporting the fact with rowboat in documents relates with his job. He knows that this is illegal, but he agree. The marriage decide grow up a baby girl (Lucy) like a they own child without to tell a no one a true.

One time, during Lucy’s baptism , Tom sees a young woman in front of grave. His father-in-law tells him that a woman, Hannah lost at sea a husband and a daughter. It was the same day, when they found Lucy. Tom is burn up with guilt, and  he starts to send a letters to Hannah with informations that her doughter is alive. The investigation of police causes that Isabel and Tom are arrested. Later, Tom tells a police that only he is responsible for kidnapping of Hannah’s doughter. Isabel is acquit and she can’t forgive a Tom that he led to reveal they secret and to deprive  a child.  Shortly after, she confesses everything, the whole truth.
